The Panaji ESG courtyard was buzzing with around 2000 people, who were singing and humming along to songs by singer
Shankar Mahadevan at a cultural festival in the capital city. This first-ever inclusive festival saw people with disabilities from across the country participate in all gusto. From songs like Garv se, Itti si Hasi, to the locally tuned Ya Ya Mayaya, Mahadevan sang from the heart and ensured everyone had a truly entertaining day.
Later, students with various disabilities accompanied the singer and sang the title song from the movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
Poornima Desai, who was at the fest said, “We were thrilled to see Shankar Mahadevan perform. I literally got goosebumps at that time. Sometimes we underestimate people with disabilities, but such events are eye openers.”
