And the chanting hit a crescendo when the Stylish Star finally took to the stage to deliver his speech.

“Chala gap vachchindi. Entroi gap ichaav... Ivvalaa, ade vachindi...,” he began, quoting the punch dialogue from his film, which incidentally, also seemed like an explanation from his long absence from the screen. It took time for everything to fall in place, that is why the long gap. If this film is a success, he should get the credit for it.”

The night also saw many a song from the film being performed on stage. “I am a huge fan of Bunny and my love for him shows in the music I made for the film. But Trivikram garu is the reason I’m here today, so I have to thank him for that,” said music director Thaman, even as the rest of the cast and crew of the film nodded in agreement.

Remarking how Bunny has matured as an actor, director Trivikram lavished praise on him, saying, “When I last worked with him in Julayi, he was a bachelor. He’s a father of two now and is much more mature. We have taken some risks with this film and we hope it pays off this Sankranti.”
