On a musical high
If music be the food of love play on' goes the saying, but at Royal Challenge's month-long festival Royal Hyderabad, it was food and music that played on!
It was a dream platform for amateur and semi professional youth bands of the city as they belted out pieces in the presence of audience including competitors and seasoned musicians like Shankar Mahadevan and Aasma who graded their performance, selected the best and trained them too! But lo and behold, the musically gruelling month-long festival came to a climactic close with a musical concert at the sprawling RCC Grounds .
And like the proof of the pudding is in the eating, for the victorious band it was in their performing, together with Aasma. Needless to say they had the young audience rocking to their foot tapping numbers.
But that was not all��� as the audience was left asking for more and waiting with bated breath (!), Shankar Mahadevan the famous Bollywood movie singer took over the stage and had the audience truly mesmerised with his breathtaking performance. And before long the singer had a number of young people in the audience swinging to his numbers and with him on stage!
Responding to the overwhelming audience response Apurv Nagpal, director marketing, SABMiller, said "We look forward to bringing more excitement and celebrations with Royal Hyderabad in years to come."
So to many more such festivals to not just bring entertainment, but also to encourage and select the best of musical talent in the city.
