‘Rakshasudu will be like a wake-up call to everyone’
Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas
seems to have had enough of playing the larger than life hero onscreen. “Rakshasudu will unveil a new me,” exclaims the actor, gushing about his cop act in the Telugu remake of the 2018 Tamil hit,Ratsasan
. “It’s a gritty psychological thriller. I play a newbie cop who is out to nail a serial killer responsible for a spate of brutal murders of school girls. He is very relatable character; nothing like the typical hero I’ve played before. In fact there are no songs that deviate from the gripping narrative that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. It’s a first for me,” explains theAlludu Seenu
star. Directed by Ramesh Varma, the film will send shivers down the spines of the audience reckons Sreenivas. “Children face so many atrocities and internalise them because they are unable to share. We read about so many cases of children being brutalised day in and day out, but no one really talks about it. I have so many teenaged cousins and the film’sstory made me wonder what if they face a similar situation?
Rakshasudu
will be like a wake up call to everyone,” he says. Sreenivas has made up his mind to only do films that test his limits as an actor from now on. “I’m very chilled out by nature and don’t carry my work home. But I was so consumed by my role that I just couldn’t detach myself from it. This is the most challenging role I’ve played and it pushed me both physically and mentally. From now on, I only want to do such content-driven scripts that make you think. This is hands down my best performance till date,” he says signing off.Produced by Satyanarayana Koneru under A Studios and Havish Production, an Abhishek Pictures release, Rakshasudu is releasing tomorrow.
