Vijay Deverakonda keeps his promise; hands over Rs 25 lakh cheque to CMRF
It was on June 16 that actor Vijay Deverakonda announced his plan to donate his first ever
Speaking to Hyderabad Times, Vijay shared, “I wanted to personally hand over the cheque to CM KCR garu, but I just couldn’t find the time for the last one week as I’ve been shooting non stop. I did not want to prolong it further and asked Mr KTR if I can come over and hand him the cheque. He obliged, and I took my mom (Madhavi), dad (Govardhan Rao) and brother (Anand) along and gave the cheque to KTR garu.” KTR, in return gifted Vijay’s mom a Buddha statue, as a token of appreciation.
“It’s a 1 feet long statue, that weighs around 8-10 kgs. My mom liked it a lot and was very happy. In fact, KTR also honoured me and my family with Pochampally shawls. We were touched,” shares Vijay.
The meeting lasted for about half-an-hour. “We all had tea as KTR insisted. We discussed about cinema, my movies etc. He also asked me to support his Haritha Haram programme and I assured him I shall plan something with my fans soon,” says Vijay, adding, “I am happy that this entire process of giving away my award for charity has come to an end successfully.”

On Friday morning the actor kept his word, as he handed over the cheque of `25 lakh, which was raised at an event held last Sunday, to the CMRF.
