Foreign exchange students celebrate Ganesh Utsav

How often does it happen that one gets to experience another country’s culture so closely that they feel they have become a part of it! With the ongoing festivities in the city, during this time of the year the

foreign exchange students

in IIM Indore got an opportunity to be a part of the

Ganesh Utsav

that was celebrated for 5 days in their campus. The celebration is hosted every year by the junior batch but it happened for the first time that the Ganesha days came around during the stay of these exchange students. The 5 day celebration included a procession on day one, daily prayers and aarti and on the third day a proper

Maharashtrian

feast.

When asked about the center of attraction in the event, a host committee member, Saurabh Patil shared “We had hired Indian traditional dresses from the city, to bring out the flavour of the festival among everyone on campus. It was a blast for the exchange students as well as they had never worn anything like this before. Most of them wore the dresses and enjoyed being a part of the celebration.”
