Geetopdesham presents unique dance drama
It was one of those weekends when
Ravindra Natya Gruha
came alive with the tunes ofclassical music
and reverberations of ghungroo. Besides Odissi recitals, it also heralded some experimental dances. ‘Geetopdesham’, a unique dance drama combiningKathakali
andKathak
was also presented by Kalamandalam Goutam and Sudip Chakraborty respectively. They presented stories from Mahabharat through their experimental form. Even after two days of this rich experience audience was left wanting more. “The performances were truly unique and well thought, unlike regular classical recitals. I am hoping to see more such programs in future, especially for the experimental value” says Nupur Joshi, a teacher who attended the event.end of article
