Odissi performance in the city mesmerises audience

held there recently. The annual fest that celebrates Indian culture saw a host of classical dances in its auditorium. But highlight of the performances was the

Odissi

dance performed by Sujata Mahapatra and group and solo performances by

Shashwati Garai Ghosh

. A group of junior students from the organising body, Chandak Academy also presented a moving dance recital.

Sujata Mahapatra and her group members, which also comprised of Russian students who have been learning the art under her tutelage, performed on certain chapters of Ramayana. On the other hand, Odissi exponent Shashwati showed powerful performances on Shiva Parvati tale, and Marichi Vadh.
