Of royal poshaks and baraat

The royal engagement of Princess

Chirantana Kumari Jamnia

and Kunwar Ashutosh Singh that was announced just two months back, finally culminated into a nuptial bond over the weekend at a resort in Jamnia Khurd around

Indore

. Daughter of current title holder of Jamnia. Shrimant Raja Shalivahan Singh Jamnia and Rani Sahab Riteshwari Devi, bride Chirantana is a national level

shooter and is currently pursuing PhD. While her groom, Kunwar Ashutosh Singh is a young entrepreneur and son of Tikka Saheb Amar Singh and Tikka Rani Prerna Singh of Ramgarh.

Pleasant weather, royal poshaks, regal elephant baraat procession and rustic tunes of rajasthani folk music reverberating through the venue made this royal wedding ceremony talk of the town. Not just that, presence of close to eighteen royal families from bride and groom’s side made it quite a pompous affair. Mother of the bride Rani Riteshwari Devi shares, “The alliance was made by the families back in December, with consent of the kids of course. We are quite that happy that the tradition of matrimonial alliance between Haryana and

Madhya Pradesh

Rajputs is being carried forward by our daughter and son-in-law.”

All the queens prepared elaborate thalis for welcome of the baraat which arrived regally on a decorated elephant. The princesses escorted bride Chirantana to greet the groom at the swagat entrance.

Both bride and groom were dressed in matching red coloured traditional wedding poshaks. The bride also wore heirloom jewellery pieces handed down in the family. Speaking to us Chirantana said, “I’m quite excited to begin this new journey in my life and look forward to staying in that beautiful Ramgarh fort”.

The knot was tied in accordance to traditional Rajput rites and rituals in the presence of royals from Jamnia, Rajkot, Nagod, Panchkot, Maihar, Damotar, Nayagarh, Gangpur, Dumrao,

Bawal

, Dondaicha, Rajaji ka Kareda, Badgara, Neemkheda, Bediya, Bijoliya, Khilchipur and Raghogarh. Former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh who is also a descendant of royal family of Raghogarh was also present.
