Capturing Mumbai: Anvita Pauranik, a young city-based radiologist, gave a sneak peek of Mumbai to Indoreans through her lens at a photo exhibition titled, Bombay And Beyond. While putting on display an eclectic collection of photographs comprising various city scenes, landscapes and the skyline of Mumbai, which was followed by Chicago and California.
Anvita said, “These pictures of Mumbai were taken in a span of four years, when I was doing MD there.” Excited about her passion – photography, she adds, “I often used to wander in the streets of Mumbai, and wished to capture the hustle-bustle and flavours of the city of dreams. Thanks to my passion, I don’t think I have left any part of Mumbai unseen.”
Feel like going to these places: “Be it an overcrowded street market or a serene sunset, all these shots have been taken so brilliantly that you feel like running away and seeing these places,” said Riddhima Mutneja, a homemaker. Shreya Gulati, another visitor at the do, expressed the same desire. “I often visit Mumbai but never realized that the city is so beautiful. Now, I want to visit the city again and try to soak its beauty,” she said.
Inspired Youngistaan: For Piyush, a student, this exhibition was a wake-up call to live his passion once again. “I too was interested in photography, but somehow the pressure of studies overtook my passion. But after going through these pictures, I want to rub off the dust from my camera and start clicking pictures again,” he said. “The pictures are not only stunning but thought-provoking too. It gives you inspiration that you don’t have to be a professional photographer to capture moments for a lifetime. I will soon begin to click pictures of things I want to cherish forever,” shared Kakul Modani, a young professional.
