Erstwhile Jaipur royal Gauravi Kumari leads plantation drive in the city

To celebrate World Nature Conservation Day erstwhile Jaipur royal Gauravi Kumari, participated in a plantation drive at the historical monument, Gatore ki Chhatriyan.

With students of a school, she led the campaign by planting over 100 trees of indigenous species, including amaltas, Gulmohar, Palash, khejdi, Moringa, Champa, harsingar, and others. Set amidst the revered surroundings of Gatore ki Chhatriyan, the event not only symbolized students commitment to preserving heritage and culture but also highlighted the importance of intertwining nature in Jaipur's identity. The aim of the drive was to instill pride and attachment among the young generation towards their cultural roots. Choosing a historical monument as the venue underscored the significance of preserving Jaipur's heritage as an integral part of its environmental conservation efforts.

Gauravi Kumari inspired the young minds to take an active role in safeguarding the environment. Her heartfelt words motivated the participants to become custodians of nature and heritage. She urged the students to give a name to each tree they plant. This would help them to develop a personal bond with the plant, leading to a higher sense of ownership and responsibility. Also present on the occasion was Rama Datt, executive trustee of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust, who also praised the students for their commitment to creating a green future. The event received enthusiastic support from the members of Rotary Club Jaipur, who commended students for their dedication to preserving Jaipur's heritage and ecological treasures. Urvashi Warman, principal of The Palace School, expressed her vision, stating, "Through uniting heritage and nature, the Heritage Guardians strive to nurture a harmonious environment for the generations to come."
