Musician Rajalakshmi Ashokan

and her students from her school,

Sasthreeya Sangeetha Vidyalayam at Perumbavoor

have been having a busy and excited Navratri this year. Over the past 33 years, they have been performing Navarathri sangeetharchana and presentation of

kamakshi navavarana

krithis. Due to the lockdown, they were a bit worried if they will miss it this time. But with the support of their friends and families, this year, they have been celebrating the festival virtually through their social media page.

The group consists of Rajeesh MV, Anandhu Murali, Sunila Dhaneesh, Vijayalakshmi, Hima Rahul, Nandana Murali, Arya Rajan, Sandra Sethuraj, Uthara Sethuraj, Gopi Krishnan, Amrutha Raj, Abhilash Surendran, Aravind PJ, Gowri Paravathi, Rishi Raj, Sneha Jose,Gayathri

, Krishna Mohan, Anuvinda, Punnya and Nandana apart from Rajalakshmi.

Anandhu Murali, a music lecturer, has been part of the school for more than a decade. He says, it wasn't easy for them to have a virtual show in the initial days. " We never thought we could pull it off. We did two performances per day and on Vidyarambam, we are thinking of going live. It has been a fabulous experience," he adds.
