To celebrate the essence of

Santiniketan

’s famous spring festival, several city-based artistes came together for a colourful show on Thursday evening at a south Kolkata address. Boshonter Daak — hosted by SB Ganguly and Bharati Ganguly — started with vocalists Priyam Mukherjee and Ritapa Mukherjee’s rendition of Ore Griho Bashi.
Compiled by Ritapa, the readings by interdisciplinary artiste Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee reflected Tagore’s ethos around Basanta Utsav that began way back in 1907 in Santiniketan.

This was followed by a performance of songs like Basanti Hey Bhubonomohini and Ei Udashi Hawar Pothe by Ritapa and Priyam respectively. One of the highlights of the show was an act by dancer Arnab Bandopadhyay on Mor Beena Othe Kon Sure Baje.

“This spring soiree was a sensory tribute to Basanta Utsav, a legacy of Santiniketan. I was absolutely entranced what with spring in full bloom on the beautiful lawns, aided by the moon. The spirit of the season was manifested by the artistes on stage,” said Sujoy.
