An evening filled with divine moments

It was a starry affair as a host of city personalities descended on a south Kolkata venue recently for a classical sarod recital by Amaan Ali Bangash with Subhen Chatterjee on tabla. “It was a wonderful performance. I know Amaan’s family for many years. He is a wonderful person and music flows in their family,” said Subhen. Speaking on the theme, he said, “We maintained the serenity of ‘Divine Moments’.There were elements of fun but we stuck to a traditional style.”The recital began with Raag Shree, an evening raga. This was followed by pieces like Jhaap tala and Raag Desh. He also played a medley of folk songs, which culminated with Jodi tor daak shune keu na aashe.
