A group of more than 50 birders are going to Borsul in East Bardhaman district for birding on February 2. Along with taking photgraphs of the birds they will also do macro photography of butterflies, dragonflies and other rare insects. The main motto of the

trip

will be to create awareness of the

nature

conservation. Subhankar patra, a senior

birder

said that he is expecting a

number

of uncommon birds during the one-day trip. “With rappid urbanisation, lesser and lesser birds are coming to Kolkata. But, in districts like Bardhaman, where

urbanisation

hasn’t destroyed the habitat and there are plenty of waterbodies and trees, many rare species of birds and insects are still be seen,” he added.

Subhankar said that they conduct a number of yearly trips free of cost, where photographers and nature enthusiasts can join in.
