Actor
Rajniesh Duggall made the most of his recent visit to Lucknow. The actor who was in the city on Saturday for the promotions of his serial
Aarambh
, went for Lucknow darshan on Sunday morning. “Since I was not travelling back to Mumbai the same day, I wanted to see a few unexplored places in Lucknow. I am not at all new to the city as I have been here several times for the promotions of my movies and have also shot for a film here. So, I kind of know the city quite well. However, the visits have been professional ones only. So this time I wanted to see the city on my own,” said Rajniesh.
Beginning his darshan with a visit to Dewa Sharif, the actor woke up early morning at 5 am on Sunday and travelled by car to the dargah, which is some 30 odd kms away from Lucknow. “I am quite regular to
Haji Ali
dargah in Mumbai and try to go there every Thursday. I had heard a lot about
Dewa Sharif
dargah from people in Lucknow. And since I had the time and my show was going on air, I thought of going there and seeking the blessings. Seeing the sunrise in Lucknow was the best part. I also spotted and clicked various hoarding of my show on my to Dewa,” shares the actor, adding, “I loved the qawwali at the dargah. It was divine experience and I couldn’t resist sitting there and listening to those singers. The aura of Dewa Sharif dargah was simply divine.”
Spending a good time at the dargah and enroute, Rajniesh was famished and before heading back to his hotel made a quick detour to
Sharma
chai-wallah in Lalbagh. “I had heard from Lucknowites that Sundays at Sharma tea stalls are awesome. I was surprised to see so many people here so early in the morning. There were hundreds of them having tea and samosa. Although I am on a strict diet because of my current fitness regime for Aarambh, I couldn’t resist having the kullhad waali chai and that yummy samosa. In fact, the bun with safed makkhan available at the tea stall reminded me of my childhood when I used to love having bread and malai with sugar on it. I don’t know about the city’s night life, but mornings in Lucknow are quite happening, especially on Sundays.”
While having a Lakhnawi breakfast, Rajniesh was already busy making plans for his next visit. “I now want to travel in the Lucknow Metro. While on my way to the hotel, I saw the Lucknow Metro construction happening in Alambagh area. I wish I could travel in it. But I was told by my driver that it is still not functional. However, I will definitely be travelling in it the next time I come here. Lucknow as a city is really developing in leaps and bounds.
