When life throws a few lemons at you, read a few
hacks
to deal with it, is the adage here. Comedian and theatre star
Cyrus Broacha
and TV star and model
Parizad Kolah Marshall
launched '#LoveBytesLifeHacks' by author
Veera Sanjana
in the city, recently.
The event saw a host of
bibliophiles
and friends of Veera drop in to a
bookstore
at
Kemps Corner
for the book reading and to wish her. It started by six pm and Cyrus, Parizad and Veera took their seats on the stage before the gathering. Talking about her book, Veera said, “This book is divided into two parts – one on love and other on life, two subjects that often confound, confuse and puzzle all humans. It was never intentioned to be a book, it was just random thoughts that I compiled over a period of time, a fancy, a mood, something that stirred my senses and sort of became a manuscript for a book. The book will give you food for thought and that it would continue to draw people back to it.”
Cyrus, who has authored three books himself, joked that “only he read them,” and that he was “Honoured, and a little awkward to be there as he read only read erotic Indian literature.” He kept the audience in splits with his quirky take on love and also added that, it was time to say kudos to Veera for her book.
Parizaad mentioned how most authors prefer
fiction
but asked Veera why she chose
poetry
and the
author
replied, “It’s because I am a student of literature and my first attempts to write went towards poetry." She also described it as a, "Spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.” Added Cyrus, “The book is great as poetry seems to be getting lost today in the modern day. It is tough to get people to read poetry anymore.”
The audience also enjoyed a round of Q and A with the author at the end.
