While many hotels are having the traditional cake mixing ceremony wherein the fruits, dry fruits which are to be used in the
Christmas cake
are soaked in alcohol, Wednesday evening saw Mumbaikars too enthusiastically participating in the event.
What was special about the event was that the hotel's Executive
Chef Rahul Dhavale
was gearing up to mix 100 kgs in 100 minutes, with an interesting medley of exotic fruits and nuts like glazed cherries, candied peels, black currant, dried cranberries, apples and pineapples, along with apricots, dates and raisins.
The event saw a good response as young and old together got into the act under the supervision of the chefs present at the event. Talking about the same Chef Rahul said, "We always associate the cake mixing activity as a great way to spread the message of cheer and festivity to a wider audience. Also, this activity was specially conducted on a Wednesday, when the mall has “Women Wednesdays”, to give the ladies an opportunity to learn a new recipe and interact
with chefs and network with each other.”
