The musical evening, Amari Chetnar Ronge, organised by the Bengali Education Society delighted everyone who came in to witness it. Not only were the singers dressed in ethnic Bengali attire, but merely looking at the audience was like seeing a part of Bengal, right here in the heart of Nagpur.
While the men sported Bengali Kurtas with élan, women wearing big red bindis and traditional sarees looked lovely.

Singers for the show Pinaki Mukherjee, Rakhi Jha and Jhinuk Chatterjee impressed one and all with their soulful Bangla renditions of poet Rabindranath Tagore like Pranabhoriye Trishahoriye, Lavanyapurno and Dadiyea aacho tumhi aamar gaanar. We caught up with Pinaki Mukherjee who said, "I work in a corporate sector and am not a professionally trained singer at all, but I sing out of sheer passion! I'm happy that I have my close friends in the audience to cheer me."
