Women across Nashik participated in a Moonlight Walk in the city. Starting from Trambak Vidya Mandir, Trambakeshwar at 10.30 pm, the group covered a distance of three kilometers. Over 500 women of all age groups, and from different walks of life, participated in the event.
According to the organisers, the walk was organised to throw light on the topic of women's safety.
Often women feel unsafe after sundown, and this event was their way of reclaiming the streets during the late hours. Issues of cyber security were also discussed during the walk. In addition, police officials too participated in the event, and interacted with the women to gain feedback and fresh perspective on the topic of their safety.
