Music is one of the most important constituents which keeps alive the culture of the city. Such was an evening organised at Sangeet Natak Akademi to promote folk music. The evening was a part of Awadh Sandya Shrankhla organised to celebrate the spirit of Monsoon.The event kick started by Subhash Chandra Trivedi, Special Secretary Culture, felicitating Shiv Narayan Agnived, Commissioner, Central Excise, Custom and Services , who expressed his gratitude towards the organisation and appreciated the efforts of Tarun Raj, the man behind the event.
Vocals from Meena Misra and Vandana Misra had the audience spellbound.
The first song, Nimiya ki Dadi maiya was a dedication to Devi Maa followed by Shiv Bhajan and Kajri. The music gala continued with Mirzapuri Kajri and Saawani. Spell of folk perpetuated with more music flowing in the melodious voice of Anjani Kumar Upadhyay. Also spotted at the event was T Ram, an Engineer.
