When asked why he was holding a delayed celebration (Lohri was observed on 13th) Jolly said, “Our entire family was free on Wednesday and we decided to have the get together when all our near and dear ones were free.
After all, the festivities continue for a week.”
The venue at a city club was illuminated with tiny lights, and the guests attired in their festive best savoured the spirit of the festival. This year was extra special for the host couple as it was their son Rajveer's first Lohri. Offerings of cereals like corn and groundnut were made to the Lord of Fire by the guests, who moved around the fire even as traditional chants were played in the background. There was an air of festivity as the guests and the host sang, danced and cracked jokes, enlivening the entire environment with peels of laughter and chatter. While the seniors were seen cracking jokes and were in high spirits, the youngsters immersed themselves in the song and dance routine. For those who wished to have a sedate form of enjoyment, there were games aplenty. The bonfires at different places also added a touch of warmth to the evening, making the nippy evening even more pleasant. The cynosure of all eyes were the brothers in arm, Babblu and Montu, who were dressed in identical shirts. The food was a mix of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. But, the highlight was the non-vegetarian salads, which became the prime attraction of the evening.
