The evening of January 27, Puneites saw a musical trail at Sant Namdev Auditorium of Pune University. Eminent classical musicians of the country graced the occasion by their presence and performances. An evening dedicated solely for
Dr. Chaitanya Kunte, a renowned harmonium maestro from Lalit Kala Kendra lead the discussion amongst the panellist by highlighting the tripartite components of music (Gayan, Badya and Nritya) and narrating how in the medieval times, the practice of Gayan has been over casted the tradition of the Nritya and Badya, which subsequently faded out from the field of Indian Music.
Other eminent artists like Dr. Sandhya Kathavate, a Thumri singer illustrated the “nom tom” style – an instrumental style of vocal rendition and Pt. Sudip Chattopadhyay, a prominent flautist discussed the necessity on how every instrumentalist should stress on learning vocal music as a pre-requisite of talim on any Indian classical musical instrument.
First half of the festival also saw artists like Sahana Banerjee, the well-known Sitarist of our country, Dr. Chandrima Majumdar, a Sarodist, and Dr. Kunte talking about various aspects of classical Indian music.

was a part of second half of the musical night. This was followed by presentation on Swarasudha and its various activities. Not only this, the young talents of Lalit Kala mesmerized the spectators with their musical skills on tabla, flute and vocals respectively.The festival was concluded by young talent Abhishek Borkar in
Sarod
