Banaras Hindu University held their first exhibition in the city. The title of the group draws its name from the first alphabet of the artists – Ashish Gupta, Deepika Sharma and Manish Gond. “

also means pre-historic. But we have addressed contemporary issues through our work,” said Deepika.
Using acrylic on canvas, the young artists etched the life around them in their work. Deepika dwelled on the social issues like child labour especially depicting the life of the kids on the ghats engaged in selling items like flowers while Ashish depicted the childlike fantasies of these kids, like playing with knick-knacks like paper boats. Degradation of values in society was the theme of the work of Manish. The youngster used the metaphor of a horse face to depict the two –faced people who change according to the situation.
