Behind every successful film, a filmmaker plays a vital role. The director who puts his best into his filmmaking has always been praised by the cinephiles. Gujarati cinema is blessed with numerous talented personalities who have carved out a space for themselves and became household names by delivering their best work. Interestingly, some of the notable directors are non-Gujaratis, and their efforts and abilities have always been the talk of the D-Town. Here we list down the names of some non-gujju directors who created wonders in Dhollywood.

Abhishek Jain

Abhishek rose to fame in Gujarati cinema as the director for the films like 'Kevi Rite Jaish' and 'Bey Yaar'. His films have received several nominations and accolades, for films like 'Kevi Rite Jaish' and 'Bey Yaar.' He not only delivered films but is also known for contributing some marvelous OTT content. Moreover, Jain has worked as an assistant director on films like 'Saawariya' and 'Guzaarish'.

Dhwani Gautam

When it comes to filmmaking, he is a man with a vast vision. 'Rom-Com' and 'Order Order Out Of Order' are two films directed by Dhwani. Currently, the director has made the right noise in the Gujarati cinema with his romantic ballads 'Valamiya 2.0' and the most recent 'Pardesiya.' Furthermore, Dhwani also has a few lined up projects in the pipeline like 'Kesariya', 'Love Atrangi', and a few untitled for which the shoot will start soon.

​Mikhil Musale

Mikhil directed the Pratik Gandhi-starrer 'Wrong Side Raju.' He later buzzed the Gujarati film industry when the film received the National film award for the best feature film in Gujarati at the 64th National film awards. Also, the director made it big for himself in Bollywood with his debut film 'Made in China,' which starred Rajkumar Rao, Boman Irani, and Mouni Roy.

Nitin G had directed regional films before venturing into Gujarati cinema. He is now preparing for the release of 'Nayika Devi- The Unsung Warrior,' a historical drama film. The film's shooting has begun in Rajasthan, and it will feature a multi-star cast like Khushi Shah, Chirag Jani, Rahul Dev, Manoj Joshi, Brinda Rawal, Jayesh More, Chetan Daiya, Mamta Soni, and others.

Manish Saini is a name in the Gujarati cinema who has showcased his talent in filmmaking. The director earned popularity with his film titled 'DHH', which starred famous Bollywood starlet Naseeruddin Shah, Archan Trivedi, and many others. At the 65th National Film Awards, 'DHH' had won the title for the Best Feature Film in Gujarati.
