'Je Pan Kahish E Sachu Aj Kahish' actor
Gaurav Paswala is currently winning hearts with his social media posts during lockdown. His charming personality, amazing sense of style and his fantastic confidence makes him a favourite for many. But did you know that before starting his career as an
actor
Gaurav Paswala was into
cricket
?
Explaining the reason behind becoming an actor, Gaurav said, "I call myself an accidental actor literally. If I didn’t have an accident, I would have never become an actor. The incident I am referring to is an accident that happened on a cricket field in
Sydney
. I was getting into professional cricket. While practicing my bowling, I broke my thumb. The bone was broken into two pieces which made me stay away from cricket for quite a few months. After that, I couldn’t play cricket the way I would have liked. So, I had to look out for another outlet for channelizing my energy. Acting was the first thing I stumbled upon. There is an acting institute in Sydney. I studied acting there for about a year and a half. I found it very interesting and felt this is the best way I could express myself. I studied accounting and was working full time in advertising at that time. But I continued with my acting classes part-time."
"One day, one of my acting teachers told me that it would be a while for me to get a role in
Australia
as an actor. He advised me to go to India and try it out there. I thought about this for a week or so and then came up with the bravest or stupidest decision of my life. I quit my work and decided to come to Mumbai to try out acting. I didn’t even know anyone in Mumbai, still I took the leap of faith. One of the key reasons I left everything in Sydney and tried acting in Mumbai was that I wasn’t happy with my 9-5 job and felt there was more to life than just making money and getting married and buying a house," Gaurav added.
