Dubbing is my ‘me time’, says director Viral Shah

Director Viral Shah who is currently lending his voice to a popular international cooking show, spoke to ETimes about how dubbing is close to his heart. Viral Shah has directed films like

and is a talented personality. He started his dubbing career with cartoon series and later established himself as an excellent voice-over artist who is currently lending his voice for a popular international cooking show.

Talking about the same he says, “Dubbing is my ‘me time’. Apart from cartoons I love dubbing for non-fictional shows or Korean series. Usually, I don’t get time to watch these shows at home, dubbing is binge-watching them in the studio. Currently, I am dubbing for ‘Masterchef Australia’ season 9 in Hindi I had done the earlier two seasons of the show. I do tell my dubbing director to cast me for a strong contestant, that way I can watch the series till the end (Viral Laughs). I am a big foodie and a pure vegetarian, but the way those guys cook food makes my mood to turn a nonvegetarian. It’s amazing to see over 200 dishes being cooked in one season and pronouncing their cool Firangi names in an Indian accent, for example - Caramelised kaiser fleish mein padta hai do chammach daalchini, lemon myrtle sorbet jo bilkul Barf ke goley ki tarah hai. The sound of it just makes the dish suddenly a fusion of Indo-Italian”.
