Income tax Employees Federation, Ahmedabad to hold a special screening of Hellaro on Women's Day

After winning accolades world over,

has inspired many. Telling a tale of freedom of expression amidst years of oppression, it became the first ever

Gujarati film

to win a National Award for Best Feature Film category. And such is the story that Hellaro becomes a perfect film to watch on Women's Day. And that's what The Income Tax Empolyee Federation of Ahmedabad has done. The department will hold a special screening of this award winning film on International Women's Day with the intention to empower the women employees and create awareness towards the issues relating to women.Hellaro, which is also the directorial debut of Abhishek Shah not only won the National Award for for Best Feature Film, but its 13 actresses were also awarded with a special jury award to recognise their exemplary work. Set in 1975 Kutch, Hellaro is a story of how women of this remote village find expression in garba and how they break the shackles of year of oppression in a patriarchal society.
