It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Gujarati film industry: Shital Shah

Actress and director Shital Shah is back in action. She will be now seen in a lead role in her next directorial project titled Saatam Aatham. Her co-actors are Parikshit Tamaliya and Denisha Ghumra.
Shital who last directed Duniyadari now feels happy to be both in front of the camera and behind the camera. She will be facing the camera after a gap of four years. She was last seen in Hu Tu Tu Tu in 2016.
Talking about her upcoming project, she says, “This story was on my mind even before Hu Tu Tu Tu. But I think each film has its own journey and happens when the time is right. After Duniyadari, Saatam Aatham is a completely different story.” She adds, “Interestingly, it took us the longest time to freeze on the final casting, after auditioning more than 80-90 artists. I am really looking forward to work with Parikshit and Denisha.”

industry. “Gujarati film industry is now going through an exciting phase as new genres are being explored. Now the audiences are also open to newer narratives as compared to the comedy genre which was considered as the only safe genre few years back. So many newer narratives are now being explored on the screen and thereby inspiring us to push our creative boundaries. As a filmmaker and actor, it really gives me inspiration to make films which can break the formula and emerge as ‘global Gujarati films’.”
