Reeva Rachh says her life has completely changed after doing the Gujarati film 'Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate'. The film released last Diwali with a low opening. Slowly, word spread. People started talking. The collections kept rising and finally, the film crossed Rs. 100 crores.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama Reeva says this success brought her something very special. “Earlier, your friends, family and near ones knew you,” she said. “Other people used to ask, ‘Are you an actor? In which projects have you worked?’ The general population wasn’t aware.” Now things are different. “A lot of people know me. They recognize me when they see me on the road,” she said. She added that people now say on their own, “I have seen you in Laalo.”
A role that meant a lot
Reeva plays Lalji’s wife in the film. Lalji, played by
Karan Joshi, is an auto driver who changes due to life situations. Reeva says this film gave her work she never got before. “I haven’t got the chance of doing the kind of work I got to do in this film,” she said. “So, it’s a very important film for me.” She also thanked the director. “I am happy that Ankit bhai trusted me for playing such a character,” she said.
For her, this role was not just another project. It became a turning point.
Script, guidance and co-actors
Reeva also spoke about how she connected with the film from the start. In an earlier exclusive ETimes interview, she said, “When I first read the script, I felt, ‘Okay, we have something interesting here.’” She talked about the references given for her character Tulsi and how it helped her imagine the scenes. “It really got my acting nerves excited to hop on,” she said. She added that even before meeting the team, she felt the passion through the script. “I relied heavily on the script,” she said. She also praised
Ankit Sakhiya and creative director Vicky Joshi for their support. Reeva ended by crediting her co-actor. “A lot of the credit goes to Karan, my co-actor, because he enabled me to give my best.”
