After 'Vash', Gujarati cinema delivers 'Laalo' this year. 'Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate' continues to dominate the Gujarati box office even deep into its ninth week.
As reported by the Sacnilk website, on Day 58, the film registered a solid Rs 80 lakh India net. With this, the domestic total has soared to Rs 88.80 crore and the worldwide collections have reached an impressive Rs 111 crore. Despite the natural dip in Week 8 (-46.92%), the film still maintained considerable attraction. Week 8 itself contributed Rs 9.05 crore India net.
Reeva Rachh breaks down the fight scene
While the film’s box office performance is making history, it’s the raw emotional weight of its storytelling that keeps audiences talking. Lead actress Reeva Rachh recently opened up about the intense confrontation scene between Tulsi and Laalo which is one of the most powerful moments in the film. Reeva revealed that she was not mentally prepared at first, but the script triggered something in her.
“I was not prepared by mind but when I read script, so I started visualising that this fight scene is with the movements while doing household chores throwing things it should be like that,” she shared with BBC Gujarati.
The scene was filmed inside a real residential house, adding both relatability and difficulty, requiring multiple takes while ensuring the space wasn't damaged.
Karan, who plays Laalo, emphasized that the root of the confrontation was not anger but heartbreak. “The main reason for this fight scene is Khushi, their daughter played by Mishty,” he explained in the same interview.
Looking at the highly positive reviews and collections, it's sure that 'Laalo' has turned out to be a gem from Gujarati cinema this year.
