'This was Reeva’s dream': 'Laalo: Shri Krishna Sada Sahayate' star Reeva Rachh recalls father’s reaction to Gujarati film crossing Rs 100 crore mark
Actress Reeva Rachh, who played Tulsi in the blockbuster Gujarati film 'Laalo: Shri Krishna Sada Sahayate', is still processing the film’s historic success, the first Gujarati film ever to enter the Rs 100 crore club.As reported by Gujarati Jagran, Reeva says she never imagined that a project close to her heart would change her life to this extent. “In the same mall where I used to go regularly with my friends before the film, people now recognize me as ‘Tulsi… Tulsi’. My friends really enjoy it! They suddenly meet me and immediately recognize me. This is the biggest change in my life,” she said with a smile.

Beyond box office, a connection with the audience

Reeva Rachh admits that her biggest happiness isn’t the record-breaking collection, but how deeply the film has connected with people. “My only dream was that a Gujarati film would make Rs 100 crore. When Lalo crossed this mark, my father was in America. When Ankitbhai called him and told him, my father directly said, ‘This was Reeva’s dream!’ Hearing that gave me the biggest surprise. But after reaching Rs 100 crore, my enthusiasm waned. Now I have realized that what is more important than money is that the film is reaching the hearts of the people.” She recalls grandparents from an old-age home holding her hands and talking to her, children from Ahmedabad’s Andhajan Mandal narrating the entire film just by listening to it, and villagers watching a movie on a big screen for the first time.
Reeva Rachh's life post 'Laalo'Despite the rise, Reeva insists that her life is still simple. “I am still the same Reeva. Going from home to college, from college to home, going out with friends – everything is like that. It’s just that now people recognize me. It really feels like ‘I rose from the street and became a star’!”Sharing her emotional journey on Instagram a week back, she wrote, “भगवान् के घर देर या अन्धेर नहीं है… Feb 2023 nu sapnu, Nov 2025 ma puru thayu… This is the victory of our language, Gujarati films, and the audience.”
