Mayur Puri
who last visited Ahmedabad for three of his plays is in a happy space nowadays. The screenwriter and lyricist is upbeat about his current project - Hindi version of Jon Favreau’s
The Lion King
that releases on July 19 and also marks the debut of
Aryan Khan.
While
Shah Rukh Khan has lent his voice for the character of Mufasa, son Aryan has done the same for the character of Simba.
“The dubbing is finally over. We have been doing the voice over for a week now for eight to 10 hours daily. It was so much fun to work with Shah Rukh Khan sir again. I last worked with him during
Raees when we were doing a song. Before that I had worked with him in
Happy New Year and
Om Shanti Om,” said the alumnus of Gujarat College.
On his experience of working with King Khan, Mayur adds, “His work ethics is really strong. He is so energetic and that is really infectious when he is in the studio. He is fully invested in what he does. The same is the case with Aryan. He is such a talented and grounded boy. He is always ready for more takes and give his best which is really a good thing.”
Earlier in a social media post, Mayur had said, “Last few nights we haven’t slept. None of us. Not at all. And it’s all soooo worth it. Finally, after three years I’m reunited with SRK sir on a project. And that too Aryan’s first. And what an absolute joy it is to work with them both. We have laughed and laughed and laughed through the process.” Mayur says sound mixing for the movie will be done at the Disney’s Studio in London.
On when he would be back in Ahmedabad, Mayur says, “May be post Diwali for some shows.”
