Alisha Prajapati whose Gujarati movie

Teacher Of The Year

is releasing on September 13 says, “Theatre and cinema are the best mediums to create awareness in the society and through our movie we are trying to focus on the current

education

system.”

The actress who was earlier a part of Lali Lila play was speaking to Ahmedabad Times on the sidelines of a Gujarati play

Road

at

Thakorbhai Desai Hall

recently. She was present there along with her co-star Shounak Vyas to promote the movie.

Shounak who has also directed Teacher of The Year, said, “The play Road is a very good attempt to create awareness on traffic. Interestingly, Amdavadis turned up in large numbers to watch such a play which motivates me as a

theatre

artist.”

Talking about the movie, Shounak said, “We want to give a message that it is very important that teachers, parents and students understand each other. Otherwise, we will just keep blaming the system. We often forget that we only make the system. The whole system works on fear. While parents are concerned about the education and marks of their children, teachers are worried about the school’s result and pass percentage. Interestingly, students are concerned whether both teachers and parents would be angry or disappointed with their performance.”

Alisha adds, “A lot of schools and colleges scrutinise students’ parents or take their interview before giving admission to their kids. However, our film tries to talk about how instead teachers should be interviewed on how they can make a boring subject interesting before parents enroll their kids in a school.”
