Bad Newz starring Vicky Kaushal, Tritptii Dimri and Ammy Virk has released on Friday, July 19. It has taken everyone by surprise as it managed to have a good opening number eventually, despite a slow start on Friday morning. The film is made on a moderate budget and isn't a very big scale production, hence, this number is considered good by the trade. ETimes had spoken to some trade experts yesterday who had predicted that the film may be earning Rs 7,8 crore on day 1. This collection can be even more, depending on the evening shows.
'Bad Newz' has clocked in a similar amount on its opening day. According to Sacnilk, the movie has earned Rs 8.5 crore on Friday.

According to them, this is Vicky Kaushal's biggest opener till date. 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' had made Rs 8.20 crore and 'Bad Newz' is slightly more than that. With positive word of mouth, the numbers can be expected to grow over the weekend. With this, 'Bad Newz' also is now the fifth highest opening film of the year so far.

Bad Newz Movie Review

This opening is largely due to the fact that the film's song 'Tauba Tauba' had become so popular. The trade insists on the fact again that good music will attract the audience and play a huge role, despite the fact that eventually the film's content and word of mouth will matter.
