'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' box-office collection Day 4: Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's film rakes in Rs 3 crore

Filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh is back with another social issue based drama 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' after the success of 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' which starred Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in leading roles. This time director Singh choose to feature Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in his latest film which speaks about the electricity bills in the rural areas.


The film which opened at Rs 6.25 crore on its first day saw a rise in its collections on its first weekend but the collections dropped drastically on its first Monday as the film raked in just Rs 3 crore at the ticket counter, as per the recent report on BoxOfficeIndia.com. 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' has made a total collection of Rs 24.50 crore in a span of four days.


'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' which released alongside Nandita Das' 'Manto' has been doing better as compared to the latter one at the box office. The collections are expected to get better as the film has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience.
