? In an exclusive interaction with ETimes, senior trade expert Taran Adarsh shares his opinion.
Talking about the
box office
collections of 'Angrezi Medium', he said, "Yes, it is taking a toll on the box office collections of 'Angrezi Medium'. Even 'Baaghi 3' for that matter may be doing well in small centres and cities beyond metros, but metro collections have been affected. There's a scary scenario right now with news about
coronavirus everywhere."
'Angrezi Medium' which also stars
Radhika Madan and
Kareena Kapoor Khan in pivotal roles, is the spin-off of 2017 film 'Hindi Medium'. With several theatres in Delhi, Jammu and Kerala being shut down due to Coronavirus, the latest Box Office India report had suggested that the film witnessed a poor start of around 8-10% in the domestic circuit.
While 'Hindi Medium' did a good business in Delhi when it had released, 'Angrezi Medium' will have a tough time excelling in the northern regions. Meanwhile, on the other hand, several Bollywood, as well as Hollywood films, have been postponed due to the ongoing crisis.
