Mrighdeep Singh Lamba helmed Fukrey 3 opened with flying colours at the box office and has managed to fare well through the weekend. This buddy drama stars Varun Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh and Richa Chadha in lead roles.
Fulrey 3 released on September 28, on the partial holiday of Anant Chaturdashi, and scored Rs 8.82 crore. The film went on to score big over the weekend and earned around Rs 43.48 crore. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti holiday, Fukrey 3 added Rs 11.50 crore to its total, which now stands at Rs 54.98 crore, reports Sacnilk. On October 2, the film had overall occupancy of 32.80 per cent.
Fukrey 3 is the third installment of the Fukrey franchise after Fukrey (2013) and Fukrey Returns (2017). Ali Fazal, who has featured in the first two parts, was missing from Fukrey 3. Speaking about the same, Richa had shared, “"Meeting Ali on the sets of 'Fukrey' was serendipity. Our love story began as friends, and the film holds a special place in our hearts as the origin of our journey together. Working on 'Fukrey 3' without Ali has been a unique experience. We've shared so many incredible moments on set, and his presence always added an extra layer of joy to the filmmaking process. Also the audiences loved him in the film, even now the audiences express their discontent that he is not part of the new film and I'm sure he's going to be missed by the audiences of the franchise.” Ali essayed the role of Zafar in the comedy series but couldn't be a part of the third instalment due to date issues.
