Sunny Deol starrer 'Jaat' which released in cinemas on Thursday, has been doing a decent business at the box office. Of course, one cannot compare it to the business of Sunny's previous film 'Gadar 2'. However, on day 6 and day 7, the film has now begun to see a gradual drop at the box office.
Jaat Movie ReviewWill Jaat cross Rs 100 crore?
While on Monday, it made Rs 7.25 crore and benefitted from the Ambedkar Jayanti holiday in some parts, on Tuesday it made Rs 6 crore. On Wedneday, the numbers have further dipped as the film made only Rs 3.81 crore. According to Sacnilk, the total collection of the movie so far now stands at Rs
57.63 crore. With this sort of trend, it's less likely that the movie will be able to touch the lifetime business of Rs 100 crore mark but it also all depends on the upcoming weekend.
'Kesari 2' might give competition to 'Jaat'
Jaat has been doing some great numbers in Rajasthan, Punjab, UP, Haryana. According to Box Office India, it collected more in Jaipur on the first day than in Mumbai. It was the second highest collecting city after Delhi. The Rajasthan numbers of 'Jaat' will cross the lifetime number of 'Sikandar' from that circuit just within 7 days. However, 'Jaat' has begun to see a further drop now that the advance booking for Akshay Kumar's 'Kesari Chapter 2' has begun. This film is also expected to work better in the Northern centres and particularly areas like Delhi, Punjab and more. Of course, the ideal expectation would be that the film works across all centres in order to get that big number at the box office. On day 8, the numbers may go down further, as the film completes a week on Thursday.
Meanwhile, in the south centres, it's Ajith Kumar's 'Good Bad Ugly' which is actually giving competition to 'Jaat' and doing exceptionally well at the box office.
