Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the stalwarts of Hindi Cinema, having worked for more than 20 years in the business and delivered many superhits films. In the last few years, the actress has been trying different kinds of films, be it the all girl gang film Crew, or a mystery thriller like Jaane Jaan or her latest film The Buckingham Murders - a murder mystery directed by Hansal Mehta. In the film she plays a detective, who is investigating the murder of a child, while also battling her personal demons.
The film opened to Rs 1.15 crore on Friday. On strong word of mouth, it picked up on Saturday to collect Rs 1.95 crore, and on Sunday it reached Rs 2.15 crore, but on Monday the film crashed by more than 65 % to collect just Rs 75 lakh, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the four day collection of the film to Rs 6 crore.
By far this would be Kareena’s lowest performing film in the longest time, as even Angrezi Medium, which had a limited run because of Covid, minted over Rs 10 crore in 4 days, and even her biggest flops like Gori Tere Pyaar Mein with Imran Khan collected Rs 10.50 crore in 4 days.
Kareena’s next is Rohit Shetty- Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, which is slated to release on Diwali. It would be clashing with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Triptii Dimri’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, though there are murmurs about Singham delaying its release by 2 weeks, and coming in November now.
