Despite facing challenges at the box office, 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,' featuring Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, has reached the Rs 15 crore milestone on its fifth day in theaters. The film, inspired by the real-life heroics of Jaswant Singh Gill, who courageously rescued 65 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal, in 1989, continues to face a tough battle for viewers' attention.

Released on October 6, 'Mission Raniganj' tells the compelling story of Jaswant Singh Gill's valour in the face of an overwhelming crisis. However, the film has seen a gradual decline in box office earnings, with Day 5, October 10, witnessing a collection of approximately Rs 1.50 crore in India. This brings the movie's total box office collection to Rs 15.60 crore.

On Tuesday, October 10, 'Mission Raniganj' recorded an overall occupancy rate of 9.60 percent in Hindi theaters, indicating a challenging journey at the box office. The film stars a stellar cast, including Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, and Omkar Das Manikpuri.

'Mission Raniganj' serves as a tribute to the indomitable spirit and courage of both humanity and engineering ingenuity, showcasing the exceptional bravery displayed by Jaswant Singh Gill during a critical moment in history.

The film marks director Tinu Suresh Desai's second collaboration with Akshay Kumar after 'Rustom,' a project that earned the actor his first National Award. Despite its challenging performance at the box office, 'Mission Raniganj' continues to spotlight a story of resilience and heroism that remains relevant and inspiring.
