'Simmba' box office collection Day 2: The Rohit Shetty directorial starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan collects Rs 23.75 crore on Saturday

Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Simmba', which was one of the most anticipated movies of this year, has very well managed to draw the audience to the screens. The film which is looking to end the year 2018 with a bang has also witnessed a massive opening. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film is a spin-off from his popular Singham franchise which stars Ajay Devgn. Ranveer plays a corrupt cop who turns into a hero and fight for the justice and Sara plays his love interest in the film. 'Simmba' has also registered itself as the biggest Ranveer Singh opening film ever, beating 'Padmaavat'.

According to the latest report by BoxofficeIndia.com, on Saturday, the film has managed to collect Rs 23.75 crore on its second day at the box office. The film has shown an upturn in business on day two of around 15% from the previous day. The film has now managed to collect a total of Rs 44.25 crore. The film is expected to post good numbers after the first weekend.

The audience has also given a thumbs up to the on-screen chemistry of Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. The film also marks the first collaboration between director Rohit Shetty and producer Karan Johar.

The plot of the film revolves around the title character 'Simmba' who is a corrupt cop and lives an unethical way of life. Soon an incident happens in his life which transforms him and makes him choose the righteous path.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film also stars Sonu Sood, Siddharth Jadhav and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The film also sees cameo appearances from Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and the Golmaal team. 'Simmba' is the Hindi remake of Telugu language film 'Temper'.
