First Sunday collection pushes total past Rs 90 crore

As per Sacnilk, Thamma did well at the box office, earning Rs 13 crore on its first Sunday and reaching a total of Rs 91.70 crore.




Part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, the film opened strong on Diwali, saw a slight dip during weekdays, but is now bouncing back over the weekend. On Sunday, it recorded an overall 23.19 percent Hindi occupancy.

Fifth-day surge shows growing audience interest

The supernatural film picked up pace on its fifth day, earning Rs 13.1 crore — a 31 percent jump from the previous day’s Rs 10 crore. The rise in numbers shows increasing audience interest and strong momentum at the box office.



On Saturday, Thamma crossed the lifetime box office collection of Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya (Rs 68.99 crore). Earlier, it had already surpassed Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Rs 60.35 crore).

Thamma is also doing well internationally, crossing Rs 100 crore in worldwide earnings within five days.

Ayushmann Khurrana on working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui

In an exclusive interview with IANS, Ayushmann Khurrana shared, "Our film is actually light-hearted in tone. Yes, it has the emotional weight of a love story, but it's filled with comedy, action, and quirk-especially Nawaz bhai's character! Off-camera, we had a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It was my first time working with him, and I was keen to understand his process and his journey. When you're working with a generous co-actor like him, it elevates your own performance. There's a natural comfort, and that brings out the best in scenes."



Nawazuddin added, "My experience was terrible! [Laughs] Only because he hit me once and broke my fake tooth. But to his credit, he was very apologetic. He even sent flowers to my house-more than he's ever sent his wife, apparently."

Ayushmann went on to narrate, "Yes, it's true! I apologized a thousand times. I had to hit him fifty times in the film, and just once, it connected. Thankfully, it was a fake tooth! But on a serious note, having a lead actor who creates a positive and collaborative set environment makes a huge difference. Everyone performs better."
