’ may not have opened to massive figures on its first day, but over the weekend the film registered a positive growth. According to a latest report on Boxofficeidia.com, ‘Thappad’ collected in the range of Rs 6.50 crore nett on Sunday, taking its weekend total to Rs 14 crore nett. The film registered a growth of 30-35% on its third day the box office. ‘Thappad’ may have initially under-performed, but managed to make it big in Mumbai and Pune circuits on Sunday.

The fate of ‘Thappad’ depends upon its run from Monday, which will have to be a strong one. The Taapsee Pannu starrer has a big advantage in the Delhi NCR circuit since it has got a high ratio of business from there, which may hold strongly on Monday too. If the Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore circuit contribute equally then the family drama should emerge as a decent hit at the box office. The report further stated that the Sunday growth was in general high as ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ also recorded a good jump over last week.
