'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' box-office collection Day 2: Ranbir Kapoor starrer sees a drop in business
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' had released on the occasion of Holi, March 8. While the advance bookings of the film on Day 1 looked promising, as per early estimates, it has seen a drop on Day 2. This drop is due to the fact that it was a partial holiday on Holi and hence, the film couldn't benefit a lot from the brief festive period.

The film clocked in Rs 9 crore nett as per trade website boxofficeindia.com on Day 2; it saw a drop of 35 percent. With these numbers, the total collection of 'Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar' is Rs 23 crore nett and now all eyes are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is expected that the film will pick up in cities over the weekend but as per trade, the buzz in the mass areas dies once the festive period is over.
The film also got a huge boost in UP and Bihar but there's a drop in Gujarat and Saurashtra areas. Hence, it seems like the film will struggle in mass centres. But one hopes that this Luv Ranjan film records a big jump on Saturday and Sunday. Though, the Saturday numbers are expected to be better from multiplexes. However, these numbers so far are quite less for a film of this stature hence, one expects them to go up.
Since it doesn't have much of a competition from any releases till next Friday, March 17, 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' has an entire week now to make the most of its time at the box office. 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway', 'Zwigato', and 'Kabzaa' are set to release next Friday hence these releases will pose as competition to 'Tu Jhoothi...' from next week onwards.
