Aditya Dhar has emerged as the first hit film of 2019 as the movie crossed the Rs 50 crore mark on Tuesday. The film has very well managed to break the box office dominance held by Ranveer Singh starrer 'Simmba'. The film also stars
Yami Gautam as the female lead. 'Uri' clashed with Anupam Kher's 'The Accidental Prime Minister' at the box office, both centered on nationhood and patriotism.
Critics and audience have lauded Vicky Kaushal's performance. However, the movie has received mixed reviews. The film released on 11 January.

The collections are still better than the first day despite it being day five. The film has till now managed to collect a total of Rs 54.50 crore in five days at the box office.
The film is based on the surgical strikes carried out on September 29, 2016, by the Indian Army on terrorist launchpads across the Line of Control. The strikes were carried out in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an army camp at Uri earlier that month.
Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' is produced by
Ronnie Screwvala. 'Uri' was announced by the producer after one year of the surgical strike in September 2017.
