'12th Fail' star Vikrant Massey says doing films just for money feels unnatural to him

Actor Vikrant Massey, who recently starred in the critically acclaimed superhit film ‘12th Fail,’ emphasised the importance of staying true to his principles and not allowing monetary gains to dictate his future projects. Vikrant started his career with television and gradually moved to movies. He's had a long journey before he got appreciation and made his mark with '12th Fail'.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Vikrant Massey discussed the challenges of navigating success and maintaining integrity in his career. He believes in representing the common man and not abusing the privilege he has gained in the industry.

The actor noted that complacency and arrogance are pitfalls to avoid, stating, "The idea is to be as honest and hard-working as you can be."

He emphasised that doing films solely for financial gain does not align with his values and feels unnatural to him. Instead, Vikrant Massey aims to focus on roles and stories that resonate with audiences and provide meaningful narratives.

Delving more into the actor, Vikrant transitioned to films around a decade ago, facing challenges and stops along the way. However, last year marked his first significant box-office success as a leading man.

‘12th Fail’ directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, grossed nearly Rs 60 crore worldwide towards the end of last year, becoming a word-of-mouth success during a time when mid-budget films struggle to secure theatrical releases.
