It's heartbreaking when you've listened to your favorite artist countless times, only to find out they're no longer alive, brutally murdered. Sadly, such incidents have occurred globally, including in India. Here are a few other musicians and singers who were killed for senseless reasons.

On August 12, 1997, Gulshan Kumar was reportedly shot over 16 times outside the Jeeteshwar Mahadev Mandi, located in the Andheri West Suburb of Mumbai. Before this tragic event, he was threatened to pay extortion money. Suspected criminals Abdul Rashid and Rauf conducted surveillance for a month before carrying out the assassination.

This singer, songwriter, and musician, originally from Punjab, is said to have made significant contributions to Punjabi music. However, he, along with his wife and friends, was killed on March 8, 1988, and the case remains unsolved to this day. Chamkila was known as one of the greatest stage performers in Punjab and was very popular among rural audiences. Unfortunately, he was shot by a group of motorcyclists as he got out of his vehicle around 2 pm.

On May 29, 2022, the 28-year-old rapper, singer, actor, and politician Sidhu Moose Wala was killed in his car in Jawaharke Village of Mansa District by unidentified attackers, believed to be connected to gang conflicts. Moose Wala was traveling in his own car with his private security guards instead of using the state government's bulletproof vehicle and police commandos.

On September 7, 1996, American rapper Tupac was shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 25 years old at the time. The shooting happened at 11:15 pm while Tupac's car was stopped at a red light. An unidentified person in a white Cadillac shot him four times in the chest.

The English singer, songwriter, musician, and peace activist was shot and fatally wounded by an obsessed fan in New York City. The 40-year-old artist was going into his fancy apartment building in Manhattan when Mark David Chapman shot him four times. Just a few hours earlier, Chapman had requested Lennon's signature.

Amjad Sabri, a respected Pakistani Qawwali singer, was shot and killed in Karachi. Sabri, who was 45 years old, was heading to a TV station where he was supposed to perform. Later, the TTP Hakimullah Mehsud group, also known as the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for his death, stating that they killed him "for blasphemy."
