The ‘75 Creative Minds Of Tomorrow’ is back with its second edition at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2022. This year, the 75 budding film artistes who have been selected will get an opportunity to not just attend workshops but to film a short movie. The jury members say that the idea behind this competition is to create a platform for the young, creative minds of India and to showcase their talent to the world.

NEARLY 1,000 ENTRIES WERE RECEIVED FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY: ANURAG THAKUR
These 75 participants have been chosen out of thousands of entries through a two-level jury. There were two sections of juries – a selection jury and a grand jury. Apart from existing categories of direction, acting and so on, this year four new areas have been included – music composition, costume-and-makeup, art design and animation – VFX, AR/VR.

Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting

Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting, said, “75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow was conceived as a unique platform of opportunities for youths, artistes and creative minds, especially from farflung areas, to learn, engage and network with the who’s who of the Indian film industry at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. This year, in merely the second edition of 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow, nearly 1000 entries were received from all across India, including places such as Lakhimpur and Sonitpur in Assam, Khorda in Orissa, Krishna and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh, Theni in Tamil Nadu and Bhandara in Maharashtra, to name a few, out of which 75 creative minds have been handpicked. ”

WE NEED TO HEAR DIVERSE STORIES FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY: PRASOON JOSHI
Prasoon Joshi, CBFC chief and member of the grand jury for this initiative, says, “I have always believed that India’s diversity is its great strength and we will truly do justice to it when we will hear stories from every part of India, not just a few privileged cities. This is the thought behind 75 Creative Minds initiative. The restless creative minds of India are raring to go. Films should be magical, but the process of filmmaking should be considered magic. We need filmmakers by design, not by chance, and for that we need to give our young talent proper exposure. We initiated this last year along with I&B minister Anurag Thakur and IFFI. My sincere thanks to the eminent jury members who painstakingly chose these young minds. ”
