Ahead of his only
Bollywood
release in the second half of this year,
Irrfan Khan watched 'Karwaan' at a special
screening
arranged by makers
Ronnie Screwvala and
Priti Rathi Gupta
in London.
Irrfan was the first from the star cast to watch the film, with the producers (RSVP, Ishka Films) and director
Akarsh Khurana, who made arrangements overseas to host the actor and his family at the screening. They watched the
film
at
Henry Wood
House, with dialogue writer Hussain Dalal, who specially went to London for it.
Speaking about Irrfan’s feedback on the film, Akarsh Khurana shared, “Irrfan watched the film and seemed quite pleased with it. He spoke to me at length after the screening and I was happy and relieved with his and his family’s response. Hussain Dalal also attended and updated me about everyone’s reactions, which were all rather favourable.” He added, “Shooting with a legend like him was a privilege. There’s so much to learn from him every day. Honestly, with Irrfan and Dulquer (Salmaan) in the frame, I had to often remind myself that I was the director and not a fan in that moment. Everyone shared a great rapport and the schedule felt like a bit of a picnic at work. When our trailer came out, Irrfan was happy with the response it was getting, particularly all the love coming Shaukat’s (his character) way. When he asked to see the final cut, RSVP was more that willing to organise a screening for him and his family.” The film, which also stars South actor
Dulquer Salmaan and digital sensation
Mithila Palkar, releases on August 3.
